The best products
solve real problems. Feargus couldn't use the tools everyone else relied on, so we built Definely. What began as a fix for one person now powers legal teams worldwide. I'm incredibly proud of that.

Our founding story

Definely was founded by Feargus MacDaeid and Nnamdi Emelifeonwu, two former Magic Circle lawyers who met working at Freshfields.

As someone who is registered blind, Feargus couldn’t navigate complex contracts as easily as his colleague. The pair set out to make legal documents more accessible to people with visual impairments. A way to access defined terms and references without having to leave the clause you’re working on. They soon realised their solution had benefits beyond accessibility and could help solve common problems faced by every lawyer every day.
